We equip individuals with workforce pathways, Registered Apprenticeship opportunities, entrepreneurship support, and system-level infrastructure designed to help them launch and operate sustainable home-based businesses that strengthen families, expand access to quality childcare, and create economic opportunity across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Through competency-based training, professional development, and community-rooted support systems, U-LAUNCH empowers educators, caregivers, aspiring entrepreneurs, and military-connected communities — including veterans — to build sustainable careers and businesses from home while serving their communities.

The U-LAUNCH: Childhood Development Homes Authority (CDHA) operates within Virginia’s Licensed Family Day System framework and is committed to maintaining high standards for quality, accountability, workforce development, and family support across our network of Approved Childhood Development Homes.

Strengthening workforce development and sustainable home-based entrepreneurship
Supporting continuous quality improvement through monitoring, technical assistance, and competency-based evaluation aligned with the Virginia Competencies for Early Childhood Professionals
